Natural Worlds

This new group of abstract paintings evoke the natural world in its many forms. The wide range of organic marks and highly textured surfaces bring to mind microscopic views of plants and matter, but also suggest environments like caves, oceans and outer space.

It’s as though the viewer is being given a glimpse of a distant realm, its light creating silhouettes in the foreground, of the dark, dense tangled masses through which the viewer is passing. After a long, arduous journey, they may be reaching a clearing where a new world of possibility begins to come into focus.

All are acrylic and latex on 24″ x 24″ canvas, 2016-2017.
